Another Fake Bin Laden Story

RT, one of my favorite news sources, has fallen for a fake story put out by the Pentagon to support the fantasy story that a SEAL team killed Osama bin Laden, who died a second time in Abbottabad, Pakistan, a decade after his first death from illness and disease. http://rt.com/usa/202895-navy-seal-shot-binladen/
This fake story together with the fake movie and the fake book by an alleged SEAL team member is the way the fake story of bin Laden’s murder is perpetrated. Bin Laden’s alleged demise at the hands of a SEAL team was a propaganda orchestration, the purpose of which was to give Obama a hero’s laurels and deep six Democratic talk of challenging his nomination for a second term.
Osama bin Laden died in December 2001 of renal failure and other health problems, having denied in his last recorded video any responsibility for 9/11, instead directing Americans to look inside their own government. The FBI itself has stated that there is no evidence that Osama bin Laden is responsible for 9/11. Bin Laden’s obituary appeared in numerous foreign and Arabic press, and also on Fox News. No one can survive renal failure for a decade, and no dialysis machine was found in the alleged Abbottabad compound of bin Laden, who allegedly was murdered by SEALs a decade after his obituary notices.
Additionally, no one among the crew of the ship from which the White House reported bin Laden was buried at sea saw any such burial, and the sailors sent messages home to that effect. Somehow a burial was held onboard a ship on which there are constant watches and crew on alert at all hours, and no one witnessed it.
Additionally, the White House story of the alleged murder of bin Laden changed twice within the first 24 hours. The claim that Obama and his government watched the action transmitted live from cameras on the SEALs’ helmets was quickly abandoned, despite the release of a photo of the Obama regime intently focused on a TV set and alleged to be watching the live action. No video of the deed was ever released. To date there is no evidence whatsoever in behalf of the Obama regime’s claim. Not one tiny scrap. Just unsubstantiated self-serving claims.
Additionally, as I have made available on my website, witnesses interviewed by Pakistan TV reported that only one helicopter landed in Abbottabad and that when the occupants of the helicopter returned from the alleged bin Laden compound, the helicopter exploded on takeoff and there were no survivors. In other words, there was no bin Laden corpse to deliver to the ship that did not witness a burial and no SEAL hero to return who allegedly murdered an unarmed bin Laden. Moreover, the BBC interviewed residents in Abbottabad, including those next door to the alleged “bin Laden compound,” and all say that they knew the person who lived there and it was not bin Laden.
Any SEAL who was so totally stupid as to kill the unarmed “Terror Mastermind” would probably have been courtmartialed for incompetency. Look at the smiling face of the man Who Killed Bin Laden. He thinks that his claim that he murdered a man makes him a hero, a powerful comment on the moral degeneracy of Americans.
So what is this claim by Rob O’Neill about? He is presented as a “motivational speaker” in search of clients. What better ploy among gullible Americans than to claim “I am the one who shot bin Laden.” Reminds me of the western movie: The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance. What better way to give Rob O’Neill’s claim validity than for the Pentagon to denounce his revelation for breaking obligation to remain silent. What unbelievable nonsense. ISIS and anyone who believed Obama’s claim to have done in bin Laden already knew, if they believed the lie, that the Obama regime claimed responsibility for murdering an unarmed bin Laden. The reason the SEAL team was prevented from talking is that no member of the team was on the alleged mission,
Just as the ship from which bin Laden was allegedly buried has no witnesses to the deed, the SEAL unit, whose members formed the team that allegedly dispatched an unarmed Terrorist Mastermind rather than to take him into custody for questioning, mysteriously died in a helicopter crash when they were loaded in violation of procedures in an unprotected 1960s vintage helicopter and sent into a combat zone in Afghanistan shortly after the alleged raid on “bin Laden’s compound.”
For awhile there were news reports that the families of these dead SEALS do not believe one word of the government’s account. Moreover, the families reported receiving messages from the SEALs that suddenly they felt threatened and did not know why. The SEALs had been asking one another: “Were you on the bin Laden mission?” Apparently, none were. And to keep this a secret, the SEALs were sent to their deaths.
Anyone who believes anything the US government says is gullible beyond the meaning of the word.

But here’s where he misled you about the UN Arms Trade Treaty…

The New American reports that the UN Arms Trade Treaty was written in secret by the Obama/Hillary Clinton State Department, along with Russia, China, France and Britain.

Not exactly a lineup of champions of liberty.

What does the treaty actually say?

Article 2 defines the conventional arms covered, which include battle tanks, 
artillery systems, combat aircraft, 
attack helicopters, warships, missiles — and “small arms and light weapons.”

Article 3 of the treaty places UN prohibitions on “ammunition/munitions fired, launched or delivered by the conventional arms (including small arms) covered under Article 2.”

Article 4 puts all “parts and components” of weapons (including small arms) within the scheme.

QUESTIONS:

How can ANY American elected politician or bureaucrat (government employee) THAT TAKES AN OATH TO UPHOLD THE CONSTITUTION (this by definition and of necessity includes THE BILL OF RIGHTS, i.e. the first 10 Amendments, and all subsequent and un-repealed Amendments)…. How can such a person do ANYTHING IN ANY WAY, THAT USURPS, CHANGES OR DESTROYS ANY PART OF THE Constitution in any way under the color of “office”?

How can any action they take in such regard be found legal or justifiable or legitimate in ANY way?

After one of them called for the “forced resignations” of President Obama
and congressional leaders in response to multiple grievances, including
the alleged political purge of hundreds of senior military officers, two
retired U.S. generals are creating a citizens’ commission to scrutinize
Obama administration actions on national security and economic issues.

“America’s Provisional Leadership Council” will look at major concerns, as
outlined by Army Gen. Paul E. Vallely and Air Force Brig. Gen. Charles
Jones, in an eight-point paper titled “The Americans Project.”

Vallely told WND he sees The Americans Project as a “citizens’ commission”
of prominent Americans to provide advice to legislative and executive
branches of government.

America’s leaders, he said, will be “held to high standards of performance
to solve the nation’s problems of governing. We will scrutinize and
provide guidance to federally elected officials on behalf of the
citizens.”

The Americans Project, Vallely added, is a “movement, not a new party
necessarily. We want candidates to run as Americans first before being a
Democrat, Republican or Independent.”

Vallely, who today is chairman of the organization Stand Up America,
served as the deputy commanding general of Pacific Command.

Jones, who is vice chairman of The Americans Project of Stand Up America,
held numerous Air Force command positions including a tactical fighter
wing, a strategic airlift wing and a special operations group.

In calling for the forced resignations of Obama and the leadership of
Congress, Vallely outlined suggestions for nationwide rallies and said a
peaceful “civil uprising is still not out of question.”

The current crop of leaders, he said, must face a “demand resignation”
process, which he explained requires massive grassroots protests and
social networking which he envisions can be undertaken through his
organization. And example of a “forced resignation,” he said, was that of
President Richard Nixon.

“Our federal government continues down the path of destroying America,”
Vallely said. “Americans must now stand up and put America back on the
right track.”

Workable solution

Vallely and Jones in their paper say “The Americans” leadership has
developed workable solutions to “help solve and fix what has without
question stunted our nation’s ability to clearly, legally and peacefully
function as a constitutional republic.”

“Honest, selfless political leadership is the first key to America’s
economic and debt recovery and secure future for all citizens and their
children,” they say. “That means voters must band together and vote for
positive ‘America first’ leadership rather than self-serving greed and
corruption within the two major political parties that have for decades
and are now rapidly tearing the United States of America apart.”

In their paper, Vallely and Jones call for adherence to the Constitution
with strict congressional oversight of all executive actions.

In an apparent reference to the cutback in overall U.S. military
readiness, they call for a strong national defense but stipulate that “in
no way” would the U.S. military ever be used against U.S. citizens, a
reference to a growing concern among many Americans.

The paper decried the historic $17 trillion government debt, concerns over
continued unemployment and excessive tax rates on businesses and citizens.

Their solutions? Vallely and Jones call for abolishing the Federal Reserve
and the Internal Revenue Service system, the intended result of which
would be that “all political plundering of the peoples’ wealth via
taxation will be stopped.”

In abolishing the Federal Reserve System, all U.S. government financial
and economic functions would be turned back to the U.S. Treasury.

The IRS would be immediately abolished and replaced by a sales tax on
specified items for partial financing of the U.S. government.

The retired generals condemned the illegal alien “invasion,” which they
said would be stopped with a secured border double fence, calling for
penalties on employers who hire illegal aliens.

“There will be absolutely no jobs, no social services, no welfare nor
medical services allowed to be provided to illegal alien invaders,” they
say, with the exception of emergency medical care only until the illegals
can be deported.

“American jobs are for U.S. citizens, returning military veterans,
part-time high school students and the elderly,” they said. “When U.S.
employers cannot find workers and can fully justify seeking foreign
workers, government permission will be granted for hiring temporary
foreign workers.”

Eliminating agencies

They also called for the elimination and consolidation of a number of
federal agencies, some of which, like the Department of Homeland Security,
they say, have exceeded their authority.

“The DHS with functions for national security and FEMA (Federal Emergency
Management Agency) for emergencies have both grown far beyond the
intentions of reasonable and responsible leadership control, budgeting,
manpower, equipment and facilities,” they say.

“Deceptive political intentions for the potential use of facilities,
weapons, massive purchases of ammunition plus military-type vehicles and
railroad cars are greatly objectionable to American citizens and an insult
to the economic deficit of the nation,” they said.

DHS jobs could be given to the Department of Defense and the Interior
Department, they claim. And FEMA would be recast as the National Emergency
Agency with a reduction in manpower and merged into the Interior
Department to be deployed during national emergencies.

“All weapons, munitions and military-type vehicles will be transferred to
the DOD immediately,” they add.

They’d get rid of the Department of Energy and, no surprise, repeal
Obamacare.

“It is critically important for American citizens to know and understand
that the United States of America cannot recover from the unsustainable
manmade national debt crises unless satisfactory employment is archived
for a majority of U.S. citizens and that requires the existing income tax
and Federal Reserve Systems to be abolished, then changed to a greatly
reduced method of funding the federal government,” they said.

With the elimination of the income tax, businesses and corporations would
return to the U.S., making manufacturing more competitive worldwide, with
jobs emerging “in great numbers” and resulting in a booming economy.

Destructing ‘before our very eyes’

Vallely told WND the nation he long defended is self-destructing “before
our very eyes,” because of “our inept and incompetent leadership in
Washington.”

“The battle is on,” he added, “and we shall not retreat.”

Vallely, who has also served as a Fox News military analyst, claimed the
Obama administration and leadership of Congress have been leading the
nation down a road of “progressive socialism.”

The retired general said the U.S. faces a battle that is unknown to
generations of Americans, and that the fate of the nation is “now in our
hands” to enforce the Constitution and “severely limit the federal
government and its out-of-control spending.”

Vallely added that “politics as usual will not be effective or sufficient
enough to turn the country around.”

“We are in a war for America,” he told WND, adding that Sen. Ted Cruz,
R-Texas, and Dr. Ben Carson, the noted brain surgeon and author of
“America the Beautiful” and other bestselling books have made similar
observations.

“A civil uprising is still not out of the question as ‘pain’ grips the
country more each day,” Vallely said, adding that there is time to change
the country in a peaceful way.

‘This means raising your voice now’

“This means raising your voice now to your neighbors, family, co-workers
and friends,” he said. “Be the captains of your souls. I pray for another
George Washington to appear within the year and lead us.”

One of the issues that alarms Vallely is the high number of senior
officers in the U.S. military who have been fired under the Obama
administration, a toll estimated at one officer per week. Indeed, Vallely
has been very outspoken on what he calls a “purge” of the U.S. military by
the Obama administration – with a stunning nine generals and flag officers
relieved of duty this year alone.

WND has been reporting on the surge of firings, suspensions and
dismissals, for which Vallely has assigned a good portion of the blame to
Obama’s close adviser, Valerie Jarrett. Rampant “political correctness”
due to her influence, Vallely tells WND, is now permeating the military
and negatively affecting everyone from top generals to the ranks of the
enlisted.

According to Vallely, Obama is “intentionally weakening and gutting our
military, Pentagon and reducing the U.S. as a superpower, and anyone in
the ranks who disagrees or speaks out is being purged.”

Vallely equated the current treatment of U.S. senior military officers
watching over what is said and done among mid-level officers and enlisted
ranks to that of the “political commissars from the Communist era.”

He also told WND that the White House won’t investigate its own officials,
but finds it easy to fire military commanders “who have given their lives
for their country.”

‘Bought into Obama’s ideology’

“Obama will not purge a civilian or political appointee because they have
bought into Obama’s ideology,” Vallely said. “The White House protects
their own. That’s why they stalled on the investigation into Fast and
Furious, Benghazi and Obamacare. … Anyone in the ranks who speaks out is
being purged.”

He’s far from alone in his concerns about the military purge, as J.D.
Gordon, a retired Navy commander and a former Pentagon spokesman in the
Office of the Secretary of Defense, says the Obama administration is
rushing to unload senior officers whom he believes have become “political
pawns” dismissed for questionable reasons.

Retired Army Maj. Gen. Patrick Brady, a recipient of the U.S. military’s
highest decoration, the Medal of Honor, similarly has told WND that Obama
needs to apply the same standards to his political appointees as he does
to the military.

“Just when you thought the leadership of this government could not get any
worse, it does,” Brady said. “Never in history has an administration
spawned another scandal to cover the current one.”

This was a reference to the recent firing of a number of generals to mask
“Obama’s serial scandals, all prefaced by lies – Fast and Furious,
Benghazi, NSA, IRS,” among others, said Brady, former president of the
Congressional Medal of Honor Society.

Retired Army Lt. Gen. William G. “Jerry” Boykin, who was a founding member
of Delta Force and later deputy undersecretary of defense for intelligence
under President George W. Bush, tells WND it is worrying that four-star
generals are being retired at the rate that has occurred under Obama.

“Over the past three years, it is unprecedented for the number of
four-star generals to be relieved of duty, and not necessarily relieved
for cause,” Boykin said. “I believe there is a purging of the military.
The problem is worse than we have ever seen.”

He flew operationally for all but 11 months of a 26-year career, in aircraft such as the F-86 Sabre, F-15 Eagle, and the C-130A Hercules. Additionally, he flew 275 combat missions during two tours in Southeast Asia in the F- 4D and F-4E. His awards include 21 Air Medals, 3 Distinguished Flying Crosses, and the Silver Star.

Betrayal in Benghazi

The combat code of the US Military is that we don't abandon our dead or wounded on the battlefield. In US Air Force lingo, fighter pilots don't run off and leave their wingmen. If one of our own is shot down, still alive and not yet in enemy captivity, we will either come to get him or die trying.

Among America 's fighting forces, the calm, sure knowledge that such an irrevocable bond exists is priceless. Along with individual faith and personal grit, it is a sacred trust that has often sustained hope in the face of terribly long odds.

The disgraceful abandonment of our Ambassador and those brave ex-SEALs who fought to their deaths to save others in that compound is nothing short of dereliction-of-duty.

Additionally, the patently absurd cover-up scenario that was fabricated in the aftermath was an outright lie in an attempt to shield the President and the Secretary of State from responsibility.

It has been over eight months since the attack on our compound in Benghazi . The White House strategy, with the aid of a "lap dog" press has been to run out the clock before the truth is forthcoming.

The recent testimonies of the three "whistle blowers" have reopened the subject and hopefully will lead to exposure and disgrace of those responsible for this embarrassing debacle. It would appear that the most recent firewall which the Administration is counting on is the contention "that there were simply no military assets that could be brought to bear in time to make a difference" mainly due to the unavailability of tanker support for fighter aircraft.

This is simply BS, regardless how many supposed "experts" the Administration trot out to make such an assertion.

The bottom line is that even if the closest asset capable of response was half-way around the world, you don't just sit on your penguin ass and do nothing.

The fact is that the closest asset was not half-way around the world, but as near as Aviano Air Base , Italy where two squadrons of F-16Cs are based.

Consider the following scenario (all times Benghazi local): When Hicks in Tripoli receives a call at 9:40 PM from Ambassador Stevens informing him "Greg, we are under attack!" (his last words), Hicks immediately notifies all agencies and prepares for the immediate initiation of an existing "Emergency Response Plan."

At AFRICON, General Carter Ham attempts to mount a rescue effort, but is told to "stand down". By 10:30 PM an unarmed drone is overhead the compound and streaming live feed to various "Command and Control Agencies" so everyone watching that feed knew damn well what was going on.

At 11:30 PM Woods, Doherty and five others leave Tripoli, arriving in Benghazi at 1:30 AM on Wednesday morning, where they hold off the attacking mob from the roof of the compound until they are killed by a mortar direct hit at 4:00 AM.

So nothing could have been done, eh? Nonsense. If one assumes that tanker support really "was not available" what about this:

When at 10:00 PM AFRICON alerts the 31st TFW Command Post in Aviano Air Base, Italy of the attack, the Wing Commander orders preparation for the launch of two F-16s and advises the Command Post at NAS Sigonella to prepare for hot pit refueling and quick turn of the jets.

By 11:30 PM, two F-16Cs with drop tanks and each armed with five hundred 20 MM rounds are airborne. Flying at 0.92 mach they will cover the 522 nautical miles directly to NAS Sigonella in 1.08 hours. While in-route, the flight lead is informed of the tactical situation, rules of engagement, and radio frequencies to use.

The jets depart Sigonella at 1:10 AM with full fuel load and cover the 377 nautical miles directly to Benghazi in 0.8 hours, arriving at 1:50 AM which would be 20 minutes after the arrival of Woods, Doherty and their team.

Providing that the two F-16s initial pass over the mob, in full afterburner at 200 feet and 550 knots did not stop the attack in its tracks, a few well placed strafing runs on targets of opportunity would assuredly do the trick.

Were the F-16s fuel state insufficient to return to Sigonelli after jettisoning their external drop tanks, they could easily do so at Tripoli International Airport , only one-half hour away.

As for those hand-wringing naysayers who would worry about IFR clearances, border crossing authority, collateral damage, landing rights, political correctness and dozens of other reasons not to act -- screw them. It is time our "leadership" get its priorities straight and put America 's interests first.

The end result would be that Woods and Doherty would be alive. Dozens in the attacking rabble would be rendezvousing with "72 virgins" and a clear message would have been sent to the next worthless POS terrorist contemplating an attack on Americans that it is not really a good idea to "tug" on Superman's cape.

Of course all this depends upon a Commander In Chief more concerned with saving the lives of those he put in harm's way than getting his crew rested for a campaign fund raising event in Las Vegas the next day. It also depends upon a Secretary of State who actually understood "What difference did it make?", and a Secretary of Defense who was watching the feed from the drone and understood what the attack consisted of instead of making an immediate response that "One of the military tenants is that you don't commit assets until you fully understand the tactical situation."

Ultimately it comes down to the question of who gave that order to stand down? Whoever that coward turns out to be should be exposed, removed from office, and face criminal charges for dereliction of duty. The combat forces of the United States of America deserve leadership that really does "have their back" when the chips are down.

The Russian troops were requested to be reserved to work "directly and jointly" with the Federal Emergency Management Agency. FEMA is a branch of the DHS. (Here is a map of FEMA Region III. Note that Washington, D.C., the heart of the country, where a lot of protests occur, is a part of that region.) The DHS, of course, is the agency of the federal government that over the last year has purchased riot gear, armored vehicles, and 2 billion rounds of ammunition, without explanation. Juxtaposed with this news of the DHS's request for Russian soldiers to be prepared to "help us" in a time of emergency, it kind of makes one come to reason that this stockpiling of bullets and riot gear has been for the Russian troops. I'm not usually a conspiracy theorist, which is probably what a conspiracy theorist would say if he wanted people to listen to him. But EMERCOM is internationally recognized; they are not publishers of tabloids, but an actual division of the Russian government. I'd love to hear theories, even from the liberals reading this, as to why the Obama administration has requested 15,000 Russian troops to come to D.C. at some point. "Rumors of my demise may be a little exaggerated . . ."

Barack Obama’s declaration of his political vitality during a news conference on Monday should come as no surprise to gun owners.

Despite your recent defeat of his gun control bill in the U.S. Senate, Obama and the gun-grabbers are far from finished.

Late last week and over the weekend, Obama sent out an army of anti-gun surrogates -- Biden, Schumer, McCain, Manchin and McCarthy -- to make sure the American public knew that gun control is coming back before the end of 2013.

Expanded federal background checks. So-called “gun trafficking” legislation. New mental health mandates.

It’s all still VERY alive.

Vice-President Biden: “So I think we're going to get this anyway. I think this will pass before the year is out, within this Congress."

Sen. Chuck Schumer: "I think we will bring the bill back before the end of the year . . ."

Sen. John McCain: "I . . . agree with Chuck that I think the issue will come back."

Sen. Joe Manchin: "We're going to work it hard."

Rep. Carolyn McCarthy: "We do know that a number of Senators have been reaching out . . . if they can work with some of the other members [Senators] who voted 'no' . . ."

Combine the above information with John Boehner’s recent statement that he will “consider” anti-gun legislation in the House and you have a clear, concerted effort to ram gun control into law this year.

The “first principle” of being a gun rights activist is the recognition that there is always another battle around the corner.

Obama took a big political hit a couple of weeks ago when his bill went down. You should take a breath and celebrate, but only for moment.

Within hours of losing that battle, the gun-grabbers were already scheming for the next fight.

Bloomberg promised tens of millions of dollars to the effort.

Harry Reid marched to the floor of the Senate vowing to bring the bill back.

In the days leading up to the battle, my federal legislative team delivered close to four million petitions and nearly one million emergency faxes to U.S. Senate offices.

Capitol Hill insiders -- and even a number of U.S. Senators -- openly complained that the voice of gun owners “drowned out” that of the gun grabbers.

Clearly the fabled Fed "Bazooka" of stimulus has become a mere pop gun - unable to rescue our wallowing economy, yet now required to prevent it from falling asleep.
The Fed intends to hold interest rates near zero until 2015 or beyond, a policy that economists call "financial repression" because it means that banks will pay savers less than the rate of inflation. Savers will continue to lose money by having bank accounts, and will feel pressure to move their money into riskier investments.
Americans may get a lump of coal in their Christmas stockings for the next four years, along with a bill for President Barack Obama's pending carbon tax. The Fed this week, history may record, virtually handed its power to shape and regulate monetary policy to President Obama.

FEDERAL JUDGE BANS OBAMA FROM DETAINING CITIZENS INDEFINITELY

Sorry, Mr. President. A US Federal judge has clarified a decision made last month with some news sure to upset the Obama administration: the White House cannot use the NDAA to indefinitely detain American citizens.
Judge Katherine B. Forrest has answered a request made by US President Barack Obama last month to more carefully explain a May 16 ruling made in a Southern District of New York courtroom regarding the National Defense Authorization Act. Clarifying the meaning behind her injunction, Judge Forrest confirms in an eight-page memorandum opinion this week that the NDAA’s controversial provision that permits indefinite detention cannot be used on any of America's own citizens.
Last month Judge Forrest ruled in favor of a group of journalists and activists whom filed a suit challenging the constitutionality of Section 1021 of the NDAA, a defense spending bill signed into law by President Obama on New Year’s Eve. Specifically, Judge Forrest said in her injunction that the legislation contained elements that had a "chilling impact on First Amendment rights” and ruled that no, the government cannot imprison Americans over suspected ties with terrorists.
"In the face of what could be indeterminate military detention, due process requires more,” said the judge.
The Obama administration responded nine days later by asking Judge Forrest to reconsider her ruling, adding that, in the interim, the government would interpret the injunction to mean that only the few plaintiffs listed on the lawsuit would be excluded from indefinite detention. One of those named, journalist Chris Hedges, had previously said, “I have had dinner more times than I can count with people whom this country brands as terrorists … but that does not make me one.”
Responding to the White House’s demands, Judge Forrest writes in a June 6 memo, “Put more bluntly, the May 16 order enjoined enforcement of Section 1021(b)(2) against anyone until further action by this, or a higher, court — or by Congress. This order should eliminate any doubt as to the May 16 order’s scope.”
Judge Forrest does include in her ruling, however, that Americans can be indefinitely detained, but only providing that the government can link suspects directly to the September 11 terrorist attacks.
Attorney Carl Meyer represented the plaintiffs in the lawsuit and told RT last month that he expected the Obama administration to challenge Judge Forrest’s ruling, but warned that “it may not be in their best interest because there are so many people from all sides of the political spectrum opposed to this law.”
Previously, state lawmakers in both Utah and Virginia have proposed legislation that would negate provisions of the NDAA on a local level.

What's green and blue and grabby all over? President Obama's new pressure campaign for Congress to ratify the Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST).
The fight over LOST goes back three decades, when it was first rejected by President Ronald Reagan. He warned that "no national interest of the United States could justify handing sovereign control of two-thirds of the Earth's surface over to the Third World." According to top Reagan officials William Clark and Ed Meese, their boss believed the "central, and abiding, defect" was "its effort to promote global government at the expense of sovereign nation states -- and most especially the United States."
The persistent transnationalists who drafted LOST favor creation of a massive United Nations bureaucracy that would draw ocean boundaries, impose environmental regulations and restrict business on the high seas. They've tinkered with the document obsessively since the late '60s, enlisted Presidents Clinton and Bush, and recruited soon-to-depart GOP Sen. Dick Lugar to their crusade. Ignore the mushy save-the-planet rhetoric. Here's the bottom line: Crucial national security decisions about our naval and drilling operations would be subject to the vote of 162 other signatories, including Cuba, China and Russia.
While our sovereignty would be redistributed around the world, most of the funding for the massive LOST regulatory body would come from -- you guessed it! -- the United States. Forbes columnist Larry Bell reports that "as much as 7 percent of U.S. government revenue that is collected from oil and gas companies operating off our coast" would be meted out to "poorer, landlocked countries." This confiscatory act of environmental justice would siphon billions, if not trillions, away from Americans. International royalties would be imposed; an international tribunal would be set up to mediate disputes. There would be no opportunity for court appeals in the U.S.
LOST is just the latest waterlogged power grab by the Obama administration. As I reported in 2010, the White House through executive order seized unprecedented control from states and localities over "conservation, economic activity, user conflict and sustainable use of the ocean, our coasts and the Great Lakes." Obama created a 27-member "National Ocean Council" by administrative fiat that is specifically tasked with implementing ocean management plans "in accordance with customary international law, including as reflected in the Law of the Sea Convention."
The panel is chaired by radical green science czar John Holdren (notorious for his cheerful musings about eugenics, mass sterilization and forced abortions to protect Mother Earth, and for hyping weather catastrophes and demographic disasters in the 1970s with his population-control pals Paul and Anne Ehrlich) and White House Council on Environmental Quality head Nancy Sutley (best known as the immediate boss of disgraced green jobs czar/self-avowed communist Van Jones).
Other members include Dr. Jane Lubchenco, head of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and a former high-ranking official at the left-wing Environmental Defense Fund, which has long championed draconian reductions of commercial fishing fleets and recreational fishing activity in favor of centralized control, and fraudster Interior Secretary Ken Salazar, who doctored the administration's drilling moratorium report.
It is not hyperbole to expose LOST's socialist roots. Meddling Marxist Elisabeth Mann Borgese, the godmother of the global ocean regulatory scheme, made no bones about it: "He who rules the sea," she exulted, "rules the land." LOST is a radical giveaway of American sovereignty in the name of environmental protection. And it should be sunk once and for all.
