The new academic year in the United States, which began on September 8, was marred with a massive verbal attack against President Barack Obama. As usual, the attack was conducted by ultrareactionary radio hosts, who compared Obama to Hitler, Stalin and Mao Zedong, claiming that Obama wanted to infect American schoolchildren with ideas of fascism, socialism and communism. Rush Limbaugh added Saddam Hussein and Kim Jong-il on the list and said that Obama wanted to turn the US youth into Hitler Jugend and Komsomol Organization. Sean Hannity of Fox News called Obama a political pedophile.

All of those remarks were made after Obama’s 20-minute back-to-school speech.

Republican leaders in Florida and Utah urged parents not to let their children go to school on the first day of the new academic year, when the president’s speech was going to be broadcast.

"If you're concerned, keep your kids home for the day,” David Bradley, a Republican and member of the Texas State Board of Education told the USA Today. Fox TV channel urged its viewers not to let Obama turn US schools into Gulags, Nazi death camps and Chinese concentration camps. The White House was caught on the hop with such a storm of insanity.

In his speech, Obama urged children to follow their dreams, to respect teachers, to study well and make conclusions from past mistakes. Anything communist there?

“At the end of the day, we can have the most dedicated teachers, the most supportive parents, and the best schools in the world — and none of it will matter unless all of you fulfill your responsibilities. Unless you show up to those schools; pay attention to those teachers; listen to your parents, grandparents and other adults; and put in the hard work it takes to succeed.

“So today, I want to ask you, what’s your contribution going to be? What problems are you going to solve? What discoveries will you make? What will a president who comes here in 20 or 50 or 100 years say about what all of you did for this country?” Obama said.

Does it sound like Mein Kampf?

Obama delivered his speech on September 8 at Wakefield High School in Arlington, Virginia. There are 15,000 schools in the United States, where 50 million students study. It is hard to say how many of them were listening to the president’s speech. Each school provided an alternative hour for those students, whose parents did not want them to listen to Obama’s speech.

Obama delivered a brilliant speech, as he normally does. However, when it was time for questions and answers after the speech, he became a totally different person. The president was making long pauses between phrases; one could see that he was taking a great effort to choose words for answers, as if he did not want to say something that he must not say.

A word spoken is past recalling. If Obama had said “Learn, learn and once again learn” then Rush Limbaugh and others would have had a good reason to say that Obama was quoting Lenin to 50 million of American students. Obama said nothing of the kind. All the accusations and comparisons do not make any sense. At all.

changing in our land. We need to be in prayer for wisdom and guidance to

choose those who will lead this country.

What if he's right?

I hope you find the time (about 4 - 5 mins.) to read this with an open

mind. It's at the very least interesting and thought provoking. Please

read it with the open mind rather than immediately breaking it down into

left or right, conservative or liberal, democrat or republican. Rather,

look at it from the neutral viewpoint of right or wrong. It's like the line

above states, 'What if he is right'?

David Kaiser is a respected historian whose published works have covered a

broad range of topics, from European Warfare to American League Baseball.

Born in 1947, the son of a diplomat, Kaiser spent his childhood in three

capital cities: Washington D.C. , Albany , New York , and Dakar , Senegal

... He attended Harvard University, graduating there in 1969 with a B.A. in

history. He then spent several years more at Harvard, earning a PhD in

history, which he obtained in 1976....He served in the Army Reserve from

1970 to 1976.

He is a professor in the Strategy and Policy Department of the United

States Naval War College. He has previously taught at Carnegie Mellon,

Williams College and Harvard University. Kaiser's latest book, The Road to

Dallas, about the Kennedy assassination, was just published by Harvard

University Press.

History Unfolding?

I am a student of history. Professionally, I have written 15 books on

history that have been published in six languages, and I have studied

history all my life. I have come to think there is something monumentally

large afoot, and I do not believe it is simply a banking crisis, or a

mortgage crisis, or a credit crisis. Yes these exist, but they are merely

single facets on a very large gemstone that is only now coming into a

sharper focus.

Something of historic proportions is happening. I can sense it because I

know how it feels, smells, what it looks like, and how people react to it.

Yes, a perfect storm may be brewing, but there is something happening within

our country that has been evolving for about ten to fifteen years. The pace

has dramatically quickened in the past two years.

We demand and then codify into law the requirement that our banks make

massive loans to people they know will never be able to pay it back. Why?

We learned just days ago that the Federal Reserve, which has little or no

real oversight by anyone, has "loaned" two trillion dollars (that is

$2,000,000,000,000) over the past few months, but will not tell us to whom

or why or disclose the terms. That is our money. Yours and mine. And that is

three times the $700 billion of stimulous that we all argued about so

strenuously just this past September. Who has this money? Why do they have

it? Why are the terms unavailable to us? Who asked for it? Who authorized

it? I thought this was a government of "we the people," who only "loan" our

powers to our elected leaders. Apparently not.

We have spent two or more decades intentionally de-industrializing our

economy. Why?

We have intentionally dumbed down our schools, ignored our history, and no

longer teach our founding documents,...Why we are exceptional,...Why we are

worth preserving. Students by and large cannot write, think critically,

read, or articulate. Parents are not revolting, teachers are not picketing,

and school boards

continue to back mediocrity. Why?

We have now established the precedent of protesting every close election

(violently in California) over a proposition that is so controversial that

it simply wants marriage to remain defined as between one man and one woman.

Did you ever think such a thing possible just a decade ago?

We have corrupted our sacred political process by allowing unelected judges

to write laws that radically change our way of life, and then mainstream

Marxist groups like ACORN and others to turn our voting system into a banana

republic. To what purpose?

Now our mortgage industry is collapsing, housing prices are in free fall,

major industries are failing, our banking system is on the verge of

collapse, social security is nearly bankrupt, as is Medicare and our entire

government.

Our education system is worse than a joke (I teach college and I know

precisely what I am talking about) - the list is staggering in its length,

breadth, and depth. It is potentially 1929 x ten...And we are at war with an

enemy we cannot even name for fear of offending people of the same religion,

who, in turn, cannot wait to slit the throats of your children if they have

the opportunity to do so.

And finally, we have elected a man that no one really knows anything about,

who has never run so much as a Dairy Queen, let alone a town as big as

Wasilla, Alaska. All of his associations and alliances are with real

radicals in their chosen fields of 'employment', and everything we learn

about him, drip by drip, is unsettling if not downright scary. Surely you

have heard him speak about his idea to create and fund a mandatory civilian

defense force stronger than our military for use inside our borders? No? Oh,

of course. The media would never play that for you over and over and then

demand he answer it. Sarah Palin's pregnant daughter and $150,000 wardrobe

are more important.

Mr. Obama's winning platform can be boiled down to one word: Change! Why?

I have never been so afraid for my country and for my children as I am now.

This man campaigned on bringing people together, something he has never,

ever done in his professional life. In my assessment, Obama will divide us

along philosophical lines, push us apart, and then try to realign the pieces

into a new and different power structure. Change is indeed coming. And when

it comes, you will never see the same nation again.

And that is only the beginning..

As a serious student of history, I thought I would never come to experience

what the ordinary, moral German must have felt in the mid-1930's. In those

times, the "savior" was a former smooth-talking rabble-rouser from the

streets, about whom the average German knew next to nothing. What they

should have known was that he was associated with groups that shouted,

shoved, and pushed around people with whom they disagreed; he edged his way

onto the political stage through great oratory. Conservative "losers" read

it right now.

And there were the promises. Economic times were tough, people were losing

jobs, and he was a great speaker. And he smiled and frowned and waved a lot.

And people, even newspapers, were afraid to speak out for fear that his

"brown shirts" would bully and beat them into submission. Which they did -

regularly. And then, he was duly elected to office, while a full-throttled

economic crisis bloomed at hand - the Great Depression. Slowly, but surely

he seized the controls of government power, person by person, department by

department, bureaucracy by bureaucracy. The children of German citizens were

at first, encouraged to join a Youth Movement in his name where they were

taught exactly what to think. Later, they were required to do so. No Jews of

course,

How did he get people on his side? He did it by promising jobs to the

jobless, money to the money-less, and rewards for the military-industrial

complex. He did it by indoctrinating the children, advocating gun control,

health care for all, better wages, better jobs, and promising to re-instill

pride once again in the country, across Europe, and across the world. He did

it with a compliant media. (Did you know that)? And he did this all in the

name of justice and........ change! And the people surely got what they

voted for.

If you think I am exaggerating, look it up. It's all there in the history

books.

So read your history books. Many people of conscience objected in 1933 and

were shouted down, called names, laughed at, and ridiculed. When Winston

Churchill pointed out the obvious in the late 1930's while seated in the

House of Lords in England (he was not yet Prime Minister), he was booed into

his seat and called a crazy troublemaker. He was right, though. And the

world came to regret that he was not listened to.

Do not forget that Germany was the most educated, the most cultured country

in Europe .. It was full of music, art, museums, hospitals, laboratories,

and universities. And yet, in less than six years (a shorter time span than

just two terms of the U. S. presidency) it was rounding up its own citizens,

killing others, abrogating its laws, turning children against parents, and

neighbors against neighbors. All with the best of intentions, of course. The

road to Hell is paved with them.

As a practical thinker, one not overly prone to emotional decisions, I have

a choice: I can either believe what the objective pieces of evidence tell me

(even if they make me cringe with disgust); I can believe what history is

shouting to me from across the chasm of seven decades; or I can hope I am

wrong by closing my eyes, having another latte, and ignoring what is

transpiring around me.

I choose to believe the evidence. No doubt some people will scoff at me,

others laugh or think I am foolish, naive, or both. To some degree, perhaps

I am. But I have never been afraid to look people in the eye and tell them

exactly what I believe...and why I believe it.

I pray I am wrong. I do not think I am. Perhaps the only hope is our vote in

the next elections.

When you burn gas you also burn gallons of diesel and coal.

When you burn gas you don't consider the energy that it took to mine the platinum to refine the oil. Then you have the oil consumed during drilling for oil and the coal it took to forge the steel parts for the refinery and the diesel consumed mining the coal etc. etc.

The Most Suppressed Invention

Tales of high-mileage carburetors suppressed by the automotive industry and "free energy" devices suppressed by the power companies abound. There is even a story that has been surfacing occasionally concerning a "powder" that converts ordinary tap water into motor fuel.

The irony is that free energy has been ours for the taking for over a hundred years from a device that was invented over 200 years ago: the simple steam engine.

Admittedly, the internal combustion engine (a steam engine uses external combustion) is more efficient. An automobile engine will work at about 25-28% efficiency. A steam engine will work at only 5-8% efficiency.

On that basis it would appear that the steam engine is only another archaic, outmoded way to produce power, on par with the mule, the windmill, and the water wheel.

At least, it appears that way. There are apparently people in position of influence who know better. A trip to the local public or college library may disabuse you of the notion that steam power is "no competition" to our modern engines.

First, you will find that over 90% of the power (primarily for electricity) in the United States is produced by steam, primarily from steam turbines.

Second, you will be able to find plenty of books in a library on solar power, wind power, water power, petroleum power, and the like. When you get to the "how-to" section on piston steam engines, you will find an area that looks like it has been gone through by a vacuum cleaner designed to suck out books on that subject.

Third, a little basis arithmetic will show that the basic piston steam engine has not -- and cannot be -- surpassed for efficiency even to this day.

A steam engine consists of the engine itself, and a furnace with a boiler. The furnace provides the heat source to heat up the water in the boiler. When the water in the boiler turns to steam it expands and in turn drives the piston--or pistons--of the steam engine.

Your basic boilers are generally firetube, water tube, and monotube boilers. Fuel source can be either liquid or solid, such as used crankcase oil (liquid) or ground-up corncobs (solid). Natural gas can also be used. As you can readily see, the cost of the fuel, even though you will need a lot more of it, is much cheaper.

For example, 120 pounds of gasoline (20 gallons) will cost you slightly over $20.00. 1,000 pounds of coal will cost about the same. As long ago as 1946 steam locomotives had reached such a level of efficiency that one ton (including the weight of the train itself) could be moved one mile on the tracks with a teacup full of water and 2 ounces of coal.

This may seem like an exaggeration. However, bear in mind that the energy required to lift 33,000 pounds one foot in one minute (the proper way to measure one horsepower) is nowhere near the energy required to maintain the speed of an object in motion rolling along a relatively friction-free surface (railroad tracks).

For example, a 5,000 pound vehicle on steel railroad tracks will travel approximately five (5) times as far on a gallon of fuel as the same vehicle with rubber tires on the interstate will.

Ground-up corncobs would obviously be much cheaper. A farmer spending $25,000 a year for fuel in his tractors could cut that cost to zero.

The other item that is frequently overlooked is that, while an internal combustion engine may be 28% efficient, the energy required to produce the fuel renders the gasoline engine less efficient than the steam engine.

To use an analogy, we get media hype about the "non-polluting electric car." No one pays any attention to the coal-fired power plant belching dust into the air to create that electricity.

A steam engine can run on the products at hand -- sawdust, wood, corncobs, etc. No one counts the cost and energy consumption of bringing crude oil out of the ground, refining it, shipping it to terminals and service stations, and all the rest.

It gets better. As we have just shown you, the net cost of operating a steam engine is lower than anything else on the planet that requires fuel. You can run an automobile on farmer's alcohol. You can run a diesel on vegetable oil. Both examples are still more costly and labor intensive (to produce the fuel) than steam.

You may never have to replace the steam engine itself. Steam engines do not form carbon (a major wear factor) and turn fairly slowly. Steam engines have other advantages that, in regards to the wear factor, outclass gasoline engines. Steam engines normally have much larger bearing surfaces against the crankshaft. Steam engines have no "side-loading" as gas engines do and, on a "double-acting" steam engine (steam pressure is alternately exerted against each side of the piston) there is a "cushion" effect that protects the engine still further. One steam engine in England ran 24 hours a day from 1800 to 1950.

Internal combustion gasoline engines wear out so rapidly, compared to a steam engine, that it almost seems they were designed that way. The ways an internal combustion gasoline engine can wear itself out are numerous:

Carbon Formation

Unburned gasoline forms carbon in cylinder heads and on piston tops. When you hear an engine knock or "ping" the cause is quite often a hot piece of carbon igniting the fuel-air mixture at the same time the spark plug fires. The resulting noise is caused by the flame fronts colliding in the combustion chamber. Much of this occurs below the level of human hearing.

Valve Springs

Valve springs can wear out and lose their tension, especially if allowed to remain fixed in one position for too long, as when a car is parked for months.

Poppet Valves

The steam engine in the photos uses a slide valve. I.e., it slides back and forth over a smooth surface. Normal car valves bang against their valve seats and wear accordingly.

Piston Rings

High rpm and side-loading cause high wear.

Heat

A steam engine will almost never operate at temperatures of over 800 degrees Fahrenheit. The temperature generated in a gasoline engine will almost never go below 2,200 degrees Fahrenheit. Heat is a major wear factor.

Design

Steam engineers designed their engines to last. No one has ever accused gasoline engine designers of the same design goal.

Government spending billions on detention camps.

The provision of the Trading with the Enemies Act of 1917, as modified on March 9, 1933 (search Congressional Record, March 9, 1933, Emergency Banking Act, Trading with the Enemies Act), to include American citizens as enemies is now about to be more fully implemented.  (BTW, this is the “secret” provision that Obama used to justify the murder of an American citizen)   With this new proposed law, I suppose that they have to fill those camps that Haliburton built to justify their $435M cost.  The camp, just southwest of Fairbanks, Alaska, by itself, can hold 2M people; and, during the winter, I bet you can turn over the population every 2 weeks or so.  That’s better than what the Nazi’s accomplished.  There are approximately 800 camps throughout the United States, fully staffed but currently sitting empty, Alaska being the largest.  These were established under Rex-84, Operation Cable Splicer and Operation Garden Plot, by executive orders of the Reagan administration (Google for more information).

Senate Moves To Allow Military To Intern Americans Without Trial

NDAA detention provision would turn America into a “battlefield”

The Senate is set to vote on a bill next week that would define the whole of the United States as a “battlefield” and allow the U.S. Military to arrest American citizens in their own back yard without charge or trial.

“The Senate is going to vote on whether Congress will give this president—and every future president — the power to order the military to pick up and imprison without charge or trial civilians anywhere in the world. The power is so broad that even U.S. citizens could be swept up by the military and the military could be used far from any battlefield, even within the United States itself,” writes Chris Anders of the ACLU Washington Legislative Office.

Under the ‘worldwide indefinite detention without charge or trial’ provision of S.1867, the National Defense Authorization Act bill, which is set to be up for a vote on the Senate floor Monday, the legislation will “basically say in law for the first time that the homeland is part of the battlefield,” said Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), who supports the bill.

The bill was drafted in secret by Senators Carl Levin (D-Mich.) and John McCain (R-Ariz.), before being passed in a closed-door committee meeting without any kind of hearing. The language appears in sections 1031 and 1032 of the NDAA bill.

“I would also point out that these provisions raise serious questions as to who we are as a society and what our Constitution seeks to protect,” Colorado Senator Mark Udall said in a speech last week. One section of these provisions, section 1031, would be interpreted as allowing the military to capture and indefinitely detain American citizens on U.S. soil. Section 1031 essentially repeals the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878 by authorizing the U.S. military to perform law enforcement functions on American soil. That alone should alarm my colleagues on both sides of the aisle, but there are other problems with these provisions that must be resolved.”

This means Americans could be declared domestic terrorists and thrown in a military brig with no recourse whatsoever. Given that the Department of Homeland Security has characterized behavior such as buying gold, owning guns, using a watch or binoculars, donating to charity, using the telephone or email to find information, using cash, and all manner of mundane behaviors as potential indicators of domestic terrorism, such a provision would be wide open to abuse.

“American citizens and people picked up on American or Canadian or British streets being sent to military prisons indefinitely without even being charged with a crime. Really? Does anyone think this is a good idea? And why now?” asks Anders.

The ACLU is urging citizens to call their Senator and demand that the Udall Amendment be added to the bill, a change that would at least act as a check to prevent Americans being snatched off the streets without some form of Congressional oversight.

Under the National Defense Authorization Act bill, no declaration of martial law is necessary since Americans would now be subject to the same treatment as suspected insurgents in places like Afghanistan and Iraq.

If you thought that the executive assassination of American citizens abroad was bad enough, now similar powers will be extended to the “homeland,” in other words, your town, your community, your back yard.

Six years ago I did the numbers on the Fairbanks detention camp to find out if such a thing is possible. The numbers tell a gruesome story outrivaling anything Hitler could dream up. In order to take care of 2-million people and feed them this is what you need. For example, if you employed half the people in the entire state of Alaska 2-mllion divided by 350,000 = 5714 people. There is no way that one person could take care of 5714 people so obviously something is drastically wrong here.

Who will take care of the dogs and cats owned by 2-million people? Where is that food going to come from? Are they going to kill all the dogs, cats and parakeets, rabbits, ducks, hamsters, gineypigs, snakes, and fish owned by 2-million people. What is the government thinking? Where are they going to get the soldiers to round up all the people to fill 800 detention camps? 

Now let’s see how much food 2-million people would need to keep them alive. If you rationed the people to 1/2 pound of dried food a day you would need 1-million pounds of food a day. Where is this food going to come from? Say for instance, you brought a ship into Anchorage once a month carrying 30-million pounds of rice you might be able to keep them alive for a little while. However there is not enough people to cook 1-million pounds of rice a day. Where would you get the energy come from to cook 1-million pounds of rice each day?

Say for example, you charted jet airplanes to fly two million pounds of food into Fairbanks each day to keep the people alive, how many 747 plane loads would it take. Two million pounds is 1000 tones. Each plane can carry about 120,000 pounds or about 60-tons of food so you would need 17 plane loads each day flying into Fairbanks to feed the people. Where would the 1000 tons of food come from. Is there enough grain stored in Louisiana and how long would the supply last. What is on the government’s mind? Why did they build the 800 detention camps?

Can a little know federal agency turn America into a dictatorship? Hidden in a top secret safe of the Federal Emergency Management Agency are “stacks of blueprints” designed to convert American society into a “command system”—this according to a former deputy administrator of FEMA.

This highly placed source who whishes to remain anonymous confirmed the procedures developed by FEMA to round up thousands of dissenters nationwide can be implemented by a single phone call from the White House.

“In reality FEMA can be mobilized whenever the politicians occupying the White House decide they need special—and extra—Constitutional powers to impose their will on the nation.” Emergency is the trigger word in the FEMA title.

The Director of FEMA shall, on behalf of the President:

1. Coordinate all mobilization activities of the Executive Branch, including production, procurement, manpower, stabilization and transport. FEMA will be able to alter any existing contract.
2. The FRS (Federal Reserve System), with all its branches will become “fiscal agent of the United States” with dictatorial power over the economy of the nation.
3. The Treasury and the Export-Import Bank will authorized to make loans under the direction of FEMA and the FRS.
4. During a “National Emergency” the President, an “Elected official,” will be stripped of all his Presidential functions.
5. Set-up an executive Branch of the government and a national Defense Executive reserve (NDER) composed of persons selected (not elected) from various segments of the civilian economy and from government for training for employment in executive positions in the event of a “National Emergency” Such reservists have been treasonously exempted from certain provisions of the federal criminal code, and may be employed “without compensation,” e.g. shanghaied or blackmailed into service!
6. Seize and / or control every major national asset.
7. Provide for National Security and consolidate the assignment of emergency preparedness functions with various departments and agencies.
8. The Department of Justice shall develop plans for administering laws regarding the import, manufacture and distribution of narcotics, i. e., do anything it wants to eliminate all “law”, they are also ordered to take over all organized crime drug rackets and “manage” the.
9. DECLARE MARTIAL LAW AT ANY TIME. When martial law is declared the Constitution is no longer the law of the land. It is replaced with a military dictatorship.
10. Have the Department of Interior take over all potable water.
11. Place all food production under the Department of Agriculture.
12. Take over all labor resources by means of lists already prepared by the Department of Law.
13. Implement takeover of all forms of transportation, assisted by the Civil Aeronautics Board.
14. Implement takeover of all nuclear reactor facilities by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Seize all sources of public power, electric, nuclear, petroleum, etc.
15. Take over authority and presidential functions of all emergency agencies and reduce the consequences of major terrorist incidents.

Such totalitarian measures can be imposed by bureaucrats under FEMA’s direction, not just in the face of a cataclysmic upheaval, but “whenever necessary for assuring the continuity of the federal government in any national emergency type situation,” decreed a subsequent White House ukase, EO 11921, ISSUED BY President Gerald ford in April 1976.

FEMA DETENTION CAMPS:

Originally under FEMA, 23 detention camps were authorized. These detention camps were spread out across the United States. In addition to that, there are 20 supplemental camps that were authorized with the 1990 / 1991 Military Fiscal Budget. Carl Levin’s DOD budget Amendment 656 authorized the implementation of these 20 camps to supplement the 23 that were already authorized.

There are now 3 total civilian concentration camps pre-deployed inside the continental United State. In addition there are many supplemental camps or auxiliary camps through each state and each region. One example would be the Nike-Hercules site located near Monroe, Michigan. REMOTE CONTROLED DRONE HACKS INTO YOUR  CELL PHONE

Richard Perkins and Mike Tasey both worked in information technology in the U. S. Airforce before decamping to carious cyber security consulting roles in and around the Department of Defense. But throughout their carriers they’ve always considered themselves hackers at heart, which is why they spent the last two years developing the ultimate mobile hacking device: a drone aircraft that can discretely break into WI-FI networks, emit jamming signals, and even pose as a cellphone tower to intercept communications from the ground.

Perkins and Tassey shared an interest in remotely piloted aircraft, and with their professional Surveilance platform. Known as Vespid (the Latin word for “wasp” a play on the acronym), is a modified surplus FQM-117B Army target drone. In place of the aircraft’s original radio equipment, Perkins and Tassey substituted compact components including a high-powered radio antenna for intercepting and broadcasting signals, a 32-gigabite ISB dongle to keep Vespid connected to a server on the ground. Two lithium-polymer batteries power the 76-inch-long drone, which can remain aloft for more than half an hour.

Although the aircraft has impressive spying abilities, Perkins and Tassey say that they don’t have designs on other people’s data. They showed Vespid at a security conference in Las Vegas in August to make a point: if they could construct a spy drone from legall, off-the-shelf components for a few thousand dollars, then despite its complexity, others could do the same—including those with nefarious motives.

Yet Vespid could have some helpful applications. As easily as it can steal data, it can also provide WI-FI connectivity and cellphone service in areas affected by natural disasters or hunt for cell signals in devastated areas, turning ordinary cellphones into search and rescue beacons.—CLAY DILLOW

·         Flight control An Arduino microcontroller-based “ArduPilot” platform handles the drone’s avionics.

·         Flier: To boost efficiency and reduce engine nose, Tassey and Perkins stripped out the drone’s nitro-methane engine and replaced it with a 2.5 horsepower electric motor. They added landing gear forged from hobbyist R/C aircraft components to cushion their electronics cargo.

·         Interceptor: The drone uses Ettus universal software radio peripheral, or USRP, which enables it to receive and transmit signals. Two six-cell, 22.2-volt lithium-polymer battery packs power it and the rest of the hardware. (You could probably pick this stuff up a Home Depot along with the drill motor to power the aircraft.)   Including a card-deck-size central computer running BackTrack 5, a tool kit for hacking wireless networks.

·         Eavesdropper: Vespid can “spool: a cell tower—it can trick phone into thinking that its USRP is a piece of network hardware so that the phones routs calls and texts through the drone. Vespid then connects the calls through a real cell tower, so the phone (and caller) never detects that is have been duped. That means Vespid can even intercept encrypted voice or text data and dump it to a server on the ground.
